Many sport-related injuries occur every year, resulting in a decreased physical activity, and work time loss. This burdens the health care system with substantial medical costs. The estimated costs of sports injury consequences are $1 billion annually worldwide. Although in the past 21 years sports injuries progressively declined, their incidence is still high. According to the medical report of injuries of soccer players in 2010 FIFA world cup, sports injuries has an incidence of 40.1 matches and 4.4 training injuries per 1000 hours. Also, 41.3 injuries/club/season were reported by the Australian football League in 2012. The activity-related injury may be categorized as either being an acute injury or an overuse injury depending on the mechanism of injury and the onset of symptoms.
