Effect of Kinesiotaping on subacromial impingement syndrome. A Systematic Review

Research Abstract

This systematic review aimed to search the evidence behind the use of kinesio taping (KT) on shoulder subacromial impingement syndrome (SAIS). Only three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) met the study inclusion criteria and were included for q qualitative analysis. They used the KT as an intervention method compared to placebo/sham KT in terms of shoulder pain, range of motion (ROM), and function as measuring outcomes. Qualitative Analysis revealed controversy about the effect of KT on SAIS however, tendency to have an immediate and/or short term effect on shoulder pain, ROM, and function was reported.
