Master Title

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN VENTILATORY FUNCTIONS AND WORK CAPACITY IN PATIENTS WITH LIVER CIRRHOSIS

Master Abstract

This study was conducted on 45 patients with liver cirrhosis, Their age ranged between 40-60 years old. The patients were classified into 3 equal groups from mild to severe according to Child-Pugh scores . All patients performed ventilatory function tests and six minute walk test and chronic liver disease questionair. The data obtained indicated that the severity of cirrhosis has a significant effect on the ventilatory functions, the work capacity and the quality of life. Also there was significant correlation between the 6MWT as work capacity measurment and the ventilatory function tests . Key words: liver cirrhosis- ventilatory functions -work capacity .

PHD Title

HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING VERSUS RESISTIVE TRAINING ON PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC LIVER DISEASES

PHD Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare between the effect of high intensity interval training and resistive training on patients with chronic liver diseases. This study was conducted on forty female patients with chronic liver disease, their age ranged between 40-55 years old. The patients were classified into two main groups to fatty liver patients and fatty liver accompanied with hepatitis C patients. Then the patients divided according to type of exercise into high intensity interval training group and resistive training group. The participants were randomly assign into four groups, group A (n= 12), group B (n=11), group C (n=9), and group D (n=8). All patients performed liver functions tests and blood lipid analysis and six minute walk test and chronic liver disease questionnaire (CLDQ).The data obtained in the present study indicated that both high intensity and resistive training have a significant effect on lipid profile, while high intensity interval training has better effect on the work capacity and the quality of life in those patients.
